Velocity Truck Centers acquires Nevada dealership 04/12/2018

Velocity Truck Centers (VTC) announced Tuesday its acquisition of Sierra Freightliner Sterling Western Star, Inc., in Sparks, Nev.

This acquisition extends VTC’s reach in Nevada and complements its current positioning in the southern part of the state, as well as California, Arizona and Hawaii. VTC will offer Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) products at the Sparks location, providing seamless service for Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit Diesel, Thomas Bus and the group’s other brands.

VTC says this acquisition also helps the company become one of the largest Freightliner and Western Star dealership groups in the country, with 25 locations, over 1,500 employees and $1 billion in annual revenue. VTC brings its unparalleled customer focus, including two-hour Express Assessment and Elite Support Certification, to northern Nevada. Customers also will have access to equipment financing through VTC’s Crossroads Equipment Lease and Finance division, the company says.

“We are very excited to extend Velocity Truck Center’s reach to the entire state of Nevada. We will now be able to take care of our customers throughout the Southwest, including the rapidly growing Reno market area. VTC is committed to providing exceptional support for our customers and a great place to work, and we know that the Sparks employees will help us accomplish these goals,” says Brad Fauvre, co-president of VTC.

“We want to thank Chris Fleming and the Sierra team for working with us to complete this acquisition quickly and efficiently,” adds Conan Barker, co-president of VTC. “We enthusiastically welcome the Sparks employees into our organization. Our management team did an excellent job in making all this happen, and we look forward to growing together with our new team members and northern Nevada customers in the coming years.”
